Information for Voters

ELECTION DAY IS MONDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2010.

Voters will be given several opportunities to cast their vote in 2010.  All eligible electors may vote at an Advance Vote.

Election Day – Vote on Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the voting station in your area. Students who live on-campus can vote in the Concourse at Wilfrid Laurier University or the Student Life Centre at the University of Waterloo.


Advance votes – Vote at Conestoga Mall on Saturday, Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or Sunday, Oct. 3 from noon to 5 p.m., or at Waterloo City Hall, at 100 Regina St. S., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, Friday, Oct. 8, Friday, Oct. 15 and Saturday, Oct. 16.

 

In September 2010 every voter listed on the Voters' List will receive by mail a Voter Notification.  The Voter Notification will identify the voter, the Ward and Poll where they live, and where they can go to vote.

The Good Government Act, 2009 requires that voters now provide identification prior to obtaining a ballot. The following is a list of documents that show name, qualifying address, and signature (please note that you must provide the original copy of the document):

  • an Ontario driver's licence;
  • an Ontario Health Card (photo card);
  • an Ontario motor vehicle permit (plate portion);
  • a cancelled personalized cheque;
  • a mortgage, lease or rental agreement;
  • an insurance policy;
  • a loan or financial agreement with a financial institution;
  • a document issued or certified by a court in Ontario;
  • any other document from the government of Canada, Ontario or a municipality in Ontario or from an agency of such a government; or
  • any document from a Band Council in Ontario established under the Indian Act (Canada).
