Volunteers plant trees at Rotary Peace Park

(Waterloo, ON – May 30, 2008) – On May 30, 2008 from 8:30 a.m. until noon, a mix of volunteers came together to plant much-needed trees at the Rotary Peace Park, located at RIM Park in Waterloo.


The five Rotary Clubs in Kitchener-Waterloo, Activa Group staff and the 10,000 Trees Group joined forces to plant the trees.   

 
The trees are being supplied by Activa Group, a local land development company.    Peter Armbruster, Vice-President, Operations at Activa Group rallied the troups at his organization to help the Rotary Club members plant the trees.  


Details of the May 30th planting day are as follows:
8:30 a.m. Tree Dig at the Erbsville Tree Farm, 795 Erbsville Road (directly across from Bisch Street). There is a gravel laneway that leads into the main area of the farm.
10:15 a.m. Volunteers and the trees will move to the Rotary Peace Park to plant. Rotary Peace Park is located at RIM Park, 2001 University Avenue
11:45 to 12:30 a.m.  Celebration and BBQ Lunch
