The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) operates 11 conservation areas along the Grand River.

In Waterloo, the Laurel Creek Conservation Area is a popular place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Swimming, windsurfing, camping, hiking and bird-watching are just some of the activities you can do there.

The Grand River is a Canadian Heritage River, flowing 300 kilometres through southwestern Ontario from the highlands of Dufferin County to Port Maitland on Lake Erie.
