Respectful behaviour in our facilities
City of Waterloo recreation facilities are intended to serve a diverse population and a wide variety of uses. In an effort to foster a safe, healthy, respectful and positive environment for everyone who visits our facilities – members of the public, volunteers, sports groups, and staff – the City of Waterloo has recently developed a new respectful behaviour policy.
The policy is a tool that defines what types of behavior are considered inappropriate within city facilities and provides guidelines for how city staff should respond to inappropriate behavior involving community members.
City recreation facilities are for public use – it’s critical that the public understands our approach to curbing inappropriate behaviour and creating a safe and respectful environment for all. We are confident this policy will strengthen the measures we already implement to ensure an enjoyable experience for all who visit our facilities.
