Delegation Registration

The mayor stands in council chambers

Waterloo city council welcomes and encourages members of the public to comment as delegations on matters of interest to them at council or committee meetings. Council and committee meetings are webcast on our website and may be telecast on public television.

You may want to discuss your concerns with our staff or your ward councillor prior to registering as a delegation - some issues can be resolved at those levels. Other issues may be outside our jurisdiction and more appropriately brought before another level of government.

As a delegation, you have 10 minutes to outline your requests or concerns. Your name and comments will be available publically.

The deadline to register is 10 a.m. on the day of the meeting. If you register after that time, your presentation time is five minutes.

If you would like to address council on an issue that is not on the current agenda, you must submit your request in writing, advising us of the subject matter, the recommended course of action and the reasons for this recommendation. We will place the matter on the next appropriate council or committee agenda.
