Power Skating

The City of Waterloo and Twin City Hockey Skating School offer two-week pre-season power skating clinics at RIM Park.

The program is conducted during the pre-season so the players can get prepared early and improve their skating skills for the upcoming season. 

2017 registration opens March 8, 2017

Pre-Season Power Skating Clinics

A two week program:  Aug. 21 to 25 & Aug. 28 to Sept. 1

Note: kids must be the minimum age listed below by Aug. 1, 2017 to participate.

Power 1 A & B - kids aged five and six years (Click for description)

A 1 week program option is now available for the 5:30 p.m. session. The same skills will be taught each week so it is not a progressive program; parents can register their children in both weeks. 

Power 1/2 - kids aged seven and eight years (click for description)

Power 2 - kids aged eight and nine years (click for description)

Power 2/3 - kids aged nine and 10 years (click for description)

Power 3 - kids aged 10 and 11 years (click for description)

Power 4 - kids ages 12,13 and 14 years (click for description)

Pre-Skate Dryland Information

Includes a thorough dynamic warm-up with progressive movement meant to warm-up and stimulate the nervous system to prepare the skater for the on ice portion of the session.

**All dryland classes take place inside the Carolyn Fedy Athletic Centre at RIM Park. Running shoes are required.

Equipment information

Full hockey/ringette equipment must be worn. Each skater must wear a CSA-approved helmet, mask and neck protector. Bring your hockey or ringette stick.

Waiver

The waiver must be completed by the participants parent/guardian.
