Ontario’s ‘changes to gathering limits’ moves Lumen Lite online

Posted On Wednesday September 23, 2020

With the Province of Ontario’s new changes to gathering limits, Lumen Lite is moving to an online format with Lumen at Home. The event will take place online at lumenfestival.ca from September 26 to October 26, 2020.

Due to changes to the permitted size of outdoor gatherings announced late last week, the City of Waterloo, in consultation with Region of Waterloo Public Health, identifies that the modified Lumen Lite event no longer complies with the province’s regulations, and has moved the event online accordingly.

Recognizing the work of the artists who have been continuously finding new ways to pivot during the pandemic, the City of Waterloo will use this online format to support them as they continue to reach audiences with transformative art pieces.

Lumen at Home will feature a selection of film, music, and virtual art installations in various formats throughout the month. Artist have adapted their installations into engaging online content launching on Saturday September 26, with more content to be released throughout the month.

Community members are encouraged to interact with the art at lumenfestival.ca and to share their experiences on social media by using the hashtag #Lumen2020.

For more information on the virtual event, visit lumenfestival.ca or follow Create Waterloo on social media.
