City of Waterloo Skatepark

The City of Waterloo Skatepark is a popular venue for skateboarders of all skill levels, with ramps, stairs, vertical elements and more.


The skatepark is in Waterloo Park, at 100 Father David Bauer Dr., across the street from the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex. The phone number for the skatepark is 519-886-2310.

Hours of operation

The skatepark is open daily from dawn to dusk. There is no winter maintenance at this facility.


The skatepark is designed to meet the needs of our growing community of skateboarder, BMX bikers and in-line skaters.

Washrooms and concessions are available near the skatepark at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex. Walk up to the Park Inn in Waterloo Park for snacks in the summer. It is located near the Lions Lagoon splash pad.

Frequently asked questions

Q. How do I get to the skatepark by bus? Where should I park if I drive there?

A. Buses run nearby - on Westmount Road (no. 8 bus) or Erb Street (no. 5 bus). For those who drive vehicles there, free parking is available beside the skatepark in the Bauer Lot.

Q. Can I rent or run events in the skatepark?

A. Our skatepark event team runs events in skatepark. It cannot be rented for private use - it is a public space that is open to everyone. Unauthorized events are prohibited. Please contact us at 519-886-1177, ext. 270 for information.

Q. Are there skateboarding lessons in the park?

A. No, skateboarding lessons are not available at this time, although we run camps there in the summer.

Q. What kind of tree is in the middle of the skatepark?

A. It is an autumn blaze maple, which is a cultivar of a red and silver maple.

Q. What should I do if I find graffiti in the skatepark?

A. We do not allow graffiti in the skatepark, and will remove it as soon as possible. Please report graffiti or maintenance issues to 519-886-2310.
