Coun. Brian Bourke - Ward 2

Born in Vancouver, BC, Brian Bourke moved to London, ON with his family at the age of 10. He graduated from Fanshawe College in broadcast journalism, and has worked as a radio news anchor in London, Woodstock and Windsor before settling in the Lakeshore area of Waterloo in 1983.

For the next 31 year he was the morning news voice at CFCA FM in Kitchener (now known as KOOL FM) as well as a weekly columnist for the Waterloo Chronicle newspaper. Over three decades, he has worked with hundreds of charitable groups and organizations, and devoted much of his time to fundraising for the Grand River Regional Cancer Center. In November 2012 he was given the Queen's Diamond Jubilee award for Community Service.  

He and his wife Diana have raised three girls in Waterloo and currently live in Ward Two.
