Coun. Angela Vieth has lived in Waterloo since 1979. She and her husband John have raised four children in the Lakeshore area of Waterloo. A graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University, Angela has been very active in the community for many years. She is an event specialist with and the former co-ordinator of the Kitchener-Waterloo Kiwanis Music Festival. She is an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Kitchener-Waterloo and serves as Second Vice Chair of the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony Volunteer Committee.

Angela was the recipient of the Waterloo Award in 2003, the same year she graduated from the Leadership Waterloo Region program. She has been involved in the community at a grassroots level in the neighbourhood association, school council and Festival of Neighbourhoods, to name a few. She chaired the Waterloo Communities in Bloom committee for many years, during which time she led the City of Waterloo to win several awards. Angela is now a judge with the provincial Communities in Bloom program and co-founder of the UpTown Waterloo Ice Dogs Festival (now Winterloo).

She is one of the founding members of the Waterloo Interfaith Supportive Housing Committee (now Supportive Housing of Waterloo), and served as a member-at-large and chair of the events committee for our 150th anniversary celebrations prior to being elected to city council.

Angela has served on many city committees and boards as council liaison during her two terms on council.
