Friends of Waterloo Park

The Friends of Waterloo Park are a group of volunteer citizens who work closely with the Waterloo Park Advisory Committee and city staff to identify, promote and raise funds for key projects identified within the Waterloo Park master plan. The Waterloo Park master plan directs a long-term vision for the park over the next 20-plus years. It is intended to keep the park's programs and infrastructure current with the evolving needs of the community, which include an aging population, increased density, diverse cultural interests and the ever-changing focus of recreation uses and aesthetics.

The goals of the Friends of Waterloo Park include:

  • raising the profile of the park among city residents and the wider region;
  • supporting the development of new programs and events in the park;
  • raising funds to accelerate implementation of key features of the Waterloo Park master plan;
  • proposing practical, sustainable recognition methods of commemoration of donations, initiatives and achievements in the park; and
  • promoting volunteerism and engaging residents in community building.
