Heritage Strategy

Waterloo has a unique heritage that contributes to our local identity, economic prosperity and quality of life. This heritage includes historic buildings, landscapes and structures, ancient and historic archeological sites and artifacts, and museum collections. In recognition of the importance of cultural heritage to current and future generations, the City has developed two integrated heritage strategies. The Built Heritage Strategy focuses on the City's historic places such as historic buildings, structures and landscapes, while the Museum and Collections Strategy focuses on the City's museum and collections. The strategies provide a 10 year framework for identifying, protecting, managing and promoting the City's cultural heritage resources.
