Find our services
The Digital and Web Services and IMTS teams work together with city staff on projects that involve websites, online applications, software and other technology needs.
Our goal is to deliver projects that meet your business goals and the city's digital standards. This includes helping to navigate the security and privacy assessment process.
To do this we offer the following services:
Review a digital service
If you're thinking about changing an online service, platform or process, we can help you evaluate the current state and make recommendations for next steps.
Start a new digital service
If you're planning to digitize an existing service or launch a new one, we offer a range of support including help with procurement, software development, project management and implementation.
Upgrade or redesign an existing service
If a service or product is nearing the end of its life cycle, we can help identify options for replacement or redesign.
Implement a digital service
If a digital product has already been purchased and you need help with implementation, we can ensure it conforms to corporate standards and technical requirements prior to launch.
Find project eligibility
To make a request using the intake form below, your digital or technology project should include a service review, new offering or major upgrade.
Past examples include:
- procuring a new online parking permit system
- creating an online booking system for senior ride requests
- designing an app for residents to dispute a ticket
The form below is not intended for routine maintenance or service requests, such as asking for new employee hardware/software or requesting content changes on Waterloo.ca.
Make a project request
City staff can use the digital service and technology intake form to request new projects or major updates. You must be signed in to the city network to use this form.
Check the status of a request
Once a request is submitted, you will receive email confirmation that it has been received.
Requests are reviewed weekly on Tuesdays. Depending on the type of request, next steps include:
- a request for further information or clarification
- an intake meeting with relevant members of the digital, IMTS or other teams
- initiation of a security or privacy impact assessment
- an invitation to present to the Digital Technology Steering Committee
We aim to respond to all requests within 5 to 7 business days.
