Adopt a Road

Adopt-a-Road is a program for volunteer participants to clean up garbage along selected roadways in Waterloo through regular litter cleanups, thereby contributing to a cleaner environment.

We ask your organization to commit to a biannual - twice a year - cleanup of the grass area of the road section for a minimum of five years. We will supply your group leader with mandatory training and supplies. Your organization's efforts will be recognized with a sign along your "adopted" road section. Information on which roads can be adopted through the City of Waterloo's program is available by downloading this list. For Regional roads in Waterloo, contact the Region of Waterloo Transporation.

This guide will help your volunteer group organize a road cleanup in Waterloo. Review the volunteer position description for your role as a group leader. To initiate your project request, complete the online application form.
