Neighbourhood Matching Fund

Waterloo Neighbourhood Matching Fund

The Neighbourhood Matching Fund (NMF) is a grant program funded by the City of Waterloo and the United Way Waterloo Region Communities (UWWRC). The NMF supports grassroots neighbourhood place-making projects within the City of Waterloo. The funding request must be matched. This means for every $1 you request, you must contribute at least $1 in volunteer labour, donated professional services or materials, cash or any combination of these.

Groups can apply for up to $7,500 in matched funds.

Who can apply?

  • Groups of two or more people
  • Newly created groups that come together to work on a specific project
  • Groups that are seeking funding for projects beyond their regular activities
  • Groups must be open to and inclusive of everyone
