Frequently asked questions for neighbourhoods

Can homes associations apply for a grant for programs/activities/events?
Yes. The program/activity/event must be open to the full neighbourhood. Homes associations cannot apply for opportunities that just include their membership.

You can only apply for project funding, not operating funding.
If I am an affiliated organization that does not receive foundational operating funding, can I apply for a cash grant?
Yes, you can apply for both operating and project funding.
How do I know if my grant idea is a project?
Projects should be one-time or new ideas for your group. This might be a new type of celebration or program, a special anniversary, a pilot idea, or other items.
What are some examples of past neighbourhood grant ideas?
Outdoor beautification in neighbourhood spaces, operational funding for new affiliates, community programs, and new events.
