About us

The City of Waterloo Museum is dedicated to fostering understanding and appreciation of local and national history through engaging exhibitions, community partnerships, and programming. The museum is committed to telling inclusive and diverse stories that reflect the many voices and experiences that have shaped Waterloo’s past and present.

We acknowledge that the City of Waterloo is situated on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe, and Chonnonton Peoples. Our museum recognizes that the history of this land did not begin with European settlement, and we are committed to sharing stories that honour Indigenous presence, knowledge, and contributions—past and ongoing.

Located at Conestoga Mall—the museum offers free admission and ever-changing exhibitions that explore the city’s unique heritage.

The City of Waterloo Museum is the place to discover, learn about, and celebrate the diverse history and stories that continue to define Waterloo’s identity—past, present, and future.

Exhibition hours are Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Extended hours in July and August. Check our website calendar for details.

Admission is always free.
