Rooster Print Cocktail Glasses
Around 1930
There are many different ideas about how the word “cocktail” came about. One story claims that rooster tail feathers were used as a garnish in North American drinks in the late 18th Century. The tail feather garnish became the inspiration for the name “cocktail”. Is the story true? There doesn’t seem to be much evidence to suggest it is, but that didn’t stop rooster decorations from appearing on glasses and barware. These colourful Art Deco cocktail glasses are adorned with a fun transfer print of a rooster with its big tail of feathers.
