Service Centre Open House

Join us for a free, family-friendly event at the City of Waterloo Service Centre. Learn how the city works and meet the people who keep it running.

Enjoy activities and demonstrations

Meet city staff, ride in city vehicles and get an up-close view of diggers and other large equipment.

Enjoy fun activities, including:

  • bouncy castle
  • petting zoo
  • face painting
  • tractor-drawn wagon ride
  • colouring contest with a chance to win a bike

Food

Buy food from a cash-only charity barbecue. Proceeds support Cancer Vanquish. Gluten free and vegetarian options are available. 

Washrooms

Portable public washrooms, including a wheelchair-accessible washroom, will also be available.

Getting here

Parking is limited on Lexington Court and Dearborn Place.

We encourage you to walk, roll, bike or take public transit.

The event is accessible by wide, multi-use pathways and is near the Forwell Trail and Hillside Trail.

The closest Grand River Transit (GRT) bus stops are 700 metres away on Lexington Road. Check the GRT website for bus times and fees.


What to bring

Bring what you need for the day:

  • a reusable water bottle
  • dress for the weather
