Apply for open calls

We post open calls throughout the year for artists, performers and community groups. Each call includes details about eligibility, requirements and deadlines. All applications close at 5 p.m. on the deadline date.

Open call dates may change or be extended.

2026 dates Program About the program
Apply by February 19 Arts Grant Program Arts organizations can receive funding to support operations, projects or capital costs.
Apply by February 26 Live Music at Summer events Musicians and live performers are invited to perform at various family-friendly events throughout the summer.
Coming January Lumen Artists Artists are invited to participate in Waterloo’s annual festival of light, art, and technology-based installations, taking place on September 19, 2026.
Coming February Art Markets Artists, crafters and makers are invited to participate in these outdoor Art Markets from May to August.
Coming March Neighbourhood Picnic Table Program Local artists are invited to submit their designs to paint a picnic table located in one of Waterloo’s neighbourhood parks.
Coming March Trail Mix and Uptown Tunes Musicians, bands, and spoken-word artists are invited to submit an original track to be featured on a city trail for one year. 
Coming October Waterloo Park Art Walk Artists are invited to submit an image for consideration to be installed in this outdoor “art walk gallery” for park visitors to enjoy throughout the year.
