Apply for a film permit

You need a film permit if your production uses or affects public property.

A permit is required if your filming involves:

  • filming on a city street, sidewalk, trail, park, or facility
  • blocking traffic, sidewalks or public access
  • using public property for parking, traffic control or large equipment
  • involving road closures, special effects or drone footage

Apply early:

Filming on private property

If you're filming on private property, local bylaws may still apply. Contact us to confirm what approvals you need.
