West Waterloo Transportation Study

The purpose of the integrated multi-modal transportation study (IMMTS) is to evaluate the implication of increased development in west Waterloo on the transportation system and provide recommendations on:

  • Transportation network and operational improvements to respond to growth; and
  • How to expand, connect and integrate active transportation and transit in the study area.

Study area

The study area is west Waterloo, more specifically the lands west of and including Erbsville Road and Ira Needles Boulevard in the City of Waterloo. The study area may extend into the City of Kitchener and Township of Wilmot with respect to travel connectivity and transportation impacts. The draft terms of reference outline the purpose and context of the study, details of the areas being studied as well as the project's objectives.
