How the process works
A loved one is placed in a cremation casket and brought to our crematorium. The cremation takes 3 to 4 hours. Afterward, we place the cremated remains in a temporary urn for you.
Can families be present?
Yes. Families can book a time to witness the start of the cremation. This is an important part of many cultural and spiritual traditions.
What can be placed in the casket
Some personal items are allowed if they are safe to cremate. Items that may react to heat such as batteries, electronics, glass, or plastics cannot be used.
Do I need a funeral home?
If you only need the cremation, a funeral home can help with transportation and paperwork. They can also support any service or ceremony you choose.

Choose a resting place
Select a final resting place for cremated remains. Options include in-ground burials, columbarium niches and scattering gardens.
Cremation lots
We have several gardens designed for the in-ground burial of cremated remains. Each garden has its own layout, lot sizes and memorial options.
Green burial lots
A green burial lot can hold 1 traditional burial and up to 4 cremations. This option uses biodegradable materials and supports a natural wildflower meadow.
Learn more on our green burials page.
Traditional burial lots
Traditional lots can also be used for cremated remains. Each grave can hold 1 casket and several cremations, depending on the section.
Visit the traditional casket burial page for details.
Columbarium niches
A columbarium is a permanent structure with small spaces called niches. Each niche holds 2 cremated remains. Our staff can help you choose a location.
We offer 2 types of niches:
- outdoor granite niches
- indoor glass-front niches in the Parkview chapel
Scattering gardens
Scattering gardens are natural areas filled with plants and flowers. Staff gently place the cremated remains into the earth with the family. Scattering is not recoverable and becomes part of the landscape.
Parkview offers several peaceful locations for scattering.
Explore memorial options
Memorial choices depend on the resting place you choose:
- in-ground lots may allow lawn-level markers or upright monuments
- memorial path or water feature lots may allow ground-level plaques or simple inscriptions
- columbarium niches may allow plaques or scrolls; indoor niches may allow small personal items
Staff can help you understand what is available in each section.
