Registration times can vary by service.


Three-course lunches

Enjoy a hot, three-course meal Monday to Friday at noon at the Community Pavilion.

Each meal includes:

  • soup, entrée, salad and dessert
  • tea or coffee
  • accommodation for special dietary needs

The cost is $8 per meal. Book one business day in advance.

Sample menu: potato leek soup, baked ham, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and butter tart


Grocery shopping

Getting your grocery shopping done can be a challenge. Volunteers can shop on your behalf based on your grocery list. $10 per shopping trip.


Home maintenance

Get help with seasonal work like lawn care, snow removal and minor repairs.

  • $22/hour using your equipment
  • $27/hour using worker’s equipment

Maintenance services are provided by independent workers who are paid directly by you. Each worker is screened by our staff before being matched with a client.

Homemaking

Dependable homemakers help with light cleaning, laundry and meal preparation:

  • $22 per hour
  • you will have a regular scheduled appointment – weekly, bi-weekly or every 4 weeks

Homemaking services are provided by independent workers who are paid directly by you. Each worker is screened by our staff before being matched with a client.

There is a waitlist for homemaking services.

Telephone reassurance

Trained volunteers call to check in with seniors:

  • free service
  • offered Monday to Friday
  • good for seniors who live alone
  • provides peace of mind

Rides

Volunteer drivers provide rides to medical appointments, grocery stores and activities:

  • $5 for a one-way ride in Waterloo – rates vary outside the city
  • book at least 2 business days in advance
  • you must be registered with Home Support Services

We are unable to accommodate wheelchairs or rides to day programs. For accessible transportation, contact Mobility Plus.
