1. Check if you can apply

Mini Grants are for Waterloo residents who are planning neighbourhood projects.

Your project must:

  • be led by neighbours or a neighbourhood group
  • bring people together and encourage belonging
  • include inclusive participation
  • use funds for eligible expenses

You can get funding twice in a 12-month period for different projects.

2. Plan your idea

Think about your project:

  • who will take part
  • what you want to do
  • where and when it will happen
  • why it matters to your neighbourhood

3. Get inspired

Here are a few examples of neighbourhood projects that would qualify for funding:

  • card-making workshop
  • outdoor park events or sports activities
  • scavenger hunt
  • potluck, barbeque or cultural food celebration
  • safety, wellness, or environment workshop
  • sidewalk chalk, arts supplies or craft kits
  • pollinator patches or gardens

Need ideas? Visit the event ideas page or explore our how-to guides.
