Building Faster Fund

The program rewards municipalities that build homes by providing them significant new funding based on performance against provincial housing targets. The City of Waterloo will use the BFF funding for the road resurfacing projects citywide and the Laurel Creek Sanitary Pump Station.

Canada Community Building Fund

The Gas Tax Fund has been renamed the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF), a permanent source of funding that helps municipalities pay for local infrastructure projects and provides financial flexibility by allowing them to pool, bank and borrow funds.

Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund (CSRIF) Stream 1: repair and rehabilitation

The program supports projects that extend the lifespan of existing facilities, maximize the use of existing facilities and improve health and safety, accessibility and environment standards of facilities in communities across Ontario.

Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program

The program supports green and accessible retrofits, repairs or upgrades of existing public community buildings and the construction of new publicly-accessible community buildings that serve high-needs, underserved communities across Canada.

Housing Accelerator Fund

Housing-Enabling Core Servicing (HECS)

The program helps municipalities build, maintain and repair municipal roads, bridges and culverts that promote housing growth in communities across Ontario. The City of Waterloo will use the HECS funding for the reconstruction and urbanization of Conservation Drive and Beaver Creek Road. This project will enable the creation of over 4,000 new homes in Waterloo.

Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund (HEWSF) – Second Intake (HEWSF Intake II)

The program helps municipalities develop, repair, rehabilitate and expand critical drinking water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure. The City of Waterloo will use the HEWSF Second Intake to support Beaver Creek Road and Conservation Drive Reconstruction Project, Laurel Creek Sanitary Pump Station.

Local Leadership for Climate Adaptation (LLCA) initiative

The program provides grant funding to contribute towards resources that mitigate climate risk through studies and implementation projects.
