2020 to 2022 budget information

The 2020 to 2022 budget was a three year budget cycle. The annual average property tax increase was 3.3% which had an average increase of $87.77 per household.

The annual average City of Waterloo and Regional utilities rate increase was 4.2% which had an average increase of $43.71 per household.


Find previous budget cycle documents

Investments from our 2020 to 2022 budget include:

  • additional funds for library operations
  • living wage plan for city staff
  • increasing preventative maintenance
  • new furnishings in the Public Square
  • an elevator in the Button Arts Factory
  • investments in trails, sport parks, ball diamonds and new turf
