When the budget will go to council for approval
The proposed budget was released to council and the public on December 12, 2022. It has been approved by council on February 13, 2023.
Important budget timelines
- December 12 the budget was released to council and the public
- December 12 the below rates were released and approved on the same day:
- city utility rates
- building standards fees
- cemetery services
- rental housing licensing fee
- business licensing fee
- January 16 the Community Services department presented their business plan
- January 23 the below departments and organization presented their business plans:
- Office of the CAO
- Corporate Services
- Waterloo Public Library
- January 30 the Integrated Planning and Public Works department presented their business plan, and staff shared the public engagement results of the budget and the telephone survey

How to provide your feedback
A hybrid public information session was held on January 10 where the public provided their thoughts on our proposed budget. The information gathered was presented to staff and council for further consideration.
