Have your say about the city’s draft Affordable Housing Grant Program policy

Residents are invited to comment on the city’s draft Affordable Housing Grant Program corporate policy. The policy will guide the allocation of available funding to support not-for-profit organizations that create and/or retain affordable housing units in the City. The draft policy includes feedback from public engagement to date, as well as staff program recommendations and evaluations. The draft policy is available on Engage Waterloo for comment, prior to staff returning with a final policy for Council’s consideration in late Spring 2022. 

The commenting period on the draft Affordable Housing Grant Program policy will run until February 22, 2022.

Council approves development on Quiet Place

Council has approved an application that will see the construction of a 12-story residential development on 535 Quiet Place, containing:

  • three 8-storey residential towers on a shared 4-storey podium
  • 423 units (735 bedrooms)
  • 424 vehicular parking spaces
  • 254 bike parking spaces
