City of Waterloo ends Significant Weather Event

The City of Waterloo has officially ended the Significant Weather Event effective at 11:59 a.m. (noon) Wednesday March 5, 2025.

City crews have worked hard to clear roads and sidewalks, returning them back to normal winter conditions. Some residential roads may still be narrower than usual, and residents are reminded to continue exercising caution while travelling.

As weather conditions continue to change, there is a chance of localized flooding, or ice forming on roads and sidewalks. Please clear snow and ice from your catch basin as often as possible. This will help drain water from streets and prevent pooling water.

Crews are now focusing on repairing potholes on city streets.

Your patience during the February storm cleanup is appreciated.

Residents are encouraged to subscribe to the City’s newsfeed or follow the City on Twitter/X or Facebook to determine if a parking ban is still in effect and to receive updates.
