City of Waterloo extends Significant Weather Event and parking ban through Tuesday
UPDATE: the Significant Weather Event and associated snow event/parking ban have been extended until further notice.
The City of Waterloo is extending the significant weather event and snow event/parking ban for an additional 24 hours, until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18.
Snow plow crews continue to make their way throughout the city. Vehicles should be remain off the streets or risk being ticketed and towed. Crews will also begin to address narrow streets and intersections with potential sight line concerns as a result of the snow volume and space limitations. Snow clearing has been a round-the-clock operation for several days, and it will take crews some time to manage the additional snow loading operations.
Snow clearing crews are also working hard to address city-maintained sidewalks and intersection crossings, but are facing similar challenges with the amount of snow and limited space. We thank everyone for their patience and encourage all drivers and pedestrians to be extra cautious as teams work through these additional operations.
Residents are encouraged to subscribe to the City’s newsfeed or follow the City on Twitter/X or Facebook to determine if a parking ban is still in effect and to receive updates. If individuals suspect their car has been towed through this program, they should call the Waterloo Regional Police dispatch number at 519-570-9777 to find their car’s location.
