City of Waterloo hosts 'Garden of Poppies'
The City of Waterloo is pleased to host Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery’s, Remembrance Every Day ‘Garden of Poppies’ installation.
The installation features over 500 poppies made by local artists. The display is located in the entrance of City Hall and is one of over 20 such displays mounted across Canada.
The selection of poppies lining the walls of the entrance are meant to honour our veterans and remind citizens that our soldiers’ sacrifices protected the lifestyle, freedom and sovereignty we continue to enjoy today.
Community members have a couple more days to visit the installation and are invited to take a piece home in exchange for a donation to the Royal Canadian Legion. Donations can be made at legion.ca/donations.
