City of Waterloo is hiring for the 2026 summer season

Each year, over 85 staff are hired to support summer services in parks, camps, aquatics, recreational programming, special events and more. Applications are open, with most roles closing on January 19.

As a proud living wage employer, the City of Waterloo pays all full-time, part-time and contract staff at least $22.70 per hour, effective April 1, 2026.

“Seasonal staff and students are a key part of the City team, helping to deliver important programs and services to the community,” said Kathy Weidhaas, Director, Human Resources at the City of Waterloo. “They strengthen neighbourhoods and bring people together, while developing professional skills and deepening their own local connections.”

Interested applicants are also invited to the City of Waterloo Summer Job Fair taking place on January 14 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Centre. It will be an opportunity to meet staff, learn more about working for the City and gain a better understanding of roles and the application process.
