City of Waterloo launches ‘Support local, support Waterloo’ campaign
The City of Waterloo has launched ‘Support local, support Waterloo’, a new campaign aimed at strengthening the local economy, supporting businesses and fostering community pride.
The campaign is part of Waterloo’s 10-point U.S. Tariff Response Plan, developed to support residents and businesses by reinforcing Canadian unity and helping mitigate the impacts of U.S. tariffs.
‘Support local, support Waterloo’ encourages residents to shop locally, and equips businesses with tools to share their stories and connect with the community. The campaign includes a toolkit of digital and print materials that local businesses can use to highlight their products, services and role in the community.
“This campaign is about more than buying local,” said Justin McFadden, Executive Director of Economic Development, City of Waterloo. “It’s about resilience, innovation and pride in who we are as a community. When people support Waterloo businesses, they are supporting jobs, families and the long-term strength of our community.”
The campaign aims to strengthen economic diversity, support employment and cultivate a thriving community by highlighting the value of local businesses and encouraging residents to choose Waterloo products and services.
