City of Waterloo storm cleanup update
City of Waterloo operations crews are working diligently to respond to storm related issues. We ask for your patience as cleanup continues over the next several days.
The City forestry and trails staff are currently focused on cleanup of main roads and trails. Woodlots and more remote trail systems will take more time. The forestry team received 118 calls last evening while the fire rescue team logged 15 calls in just over an hour. Crews will work continuously until priority hazards are addressed. To report issues regarding water; downed trees; road, sidewalk or trail issues; call 519-886-2310.
“We are asking residents to avoid the use of City woodlots and forested trails until further notice as there is potential for hazards on the ground and in the canopy,” said Robin Milne, Director of Parks, Forestry and Cemetery Services. Reports of unsafe and hazardous trees can be made online.
Residents are also advised to stay away from power lines, flooded areas, stormwater ponds and streams.
