City’s Canada Day celebration moving to virtual format
Due to the current pandemic, the City of Waterloo will not be staging an in-person Canada Day event this year, instead it will be moving its celebration online.
“It’s widely understood that when restrictions are eventually lifted, it will be a slow and gradual process. Given the advance planning time it takes to run a community-wide event such as Canada Day, we felt it was prudent to announce now that we would not be staging an event at Waterloo Park as originally scheduled on July 1,” said Tim Anderson, City of Waterloo’s Chief Administrative Officer.
Instead, the city will launch an innovative and entertaining online celebration of our country’s birthday. Details are still being finalized, but it promises to be an enjoyable and family-oriented event that will feature local talent.
More details will be shared as they are finalized.
