Mini grants
Want to host a street BBQ but need a BBQ? Maybe you need plates, cutlery and tablecloths. Mini grants from $50 to $300 are perfect for smaller projects. You can email your request anytime directly to neighbourhoods@waterloo.ca
Matching grants
Community gardens, playgrounds, murals are just some examples of neighbourhood projects that can be supported with neighbourhood matching funds. Funds up to $7500 are available, and must be matched dollar for dollar with volunteer labour, donated professional services or materials/supplies or cash. The neighbourhood matching fund is a grant program that supports grassroots neighbourhood place-making. It is funded by the City of Waterloo, the KW Community Foundation and the United Way Waterloo Region Communities.
The deadline to request a matching fund grant is October 23, 2019. You can apply online or email neighbourhoods@waterloo.ca for assistance.
Any two or more neighbours can submit any project or event that builds neighbourhood connections. Requests must demonstrate strong support from the neighbourhood and must be inclusive to all. For more information, please visit waterloo.ca/neighbourhoods
