Local Leaders Meeting with Provincial Government on Resident Priorities

Local leaders from across Waterloo Region are travelling to Ottawa this weekend to meet face-to-face with provincial ministers, members of provincial parliament (MPPs) and party leaders about the issues that matter most to residents.

The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Conference brings together the provincial government and municipalities in Ottawa from August 14-17. The annual conference provides an opportunity for regional and municipal officials to meet with the provincial government around funding, municipal services and major infrastructure projects.

The Regional Chair, Mayors, Councillors and senior staff have delegations to discuss issues including healthcare, homelessness and housing affordability, mental health and addictions, infrastructure, transportation and economic recovery.
