National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls

October 4 honours missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, two-sprit and gender-diverse people and their families, loved ones and communities.
The National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls is rooted in advocating for justice and change for First Nations, Inuit, Métis women, two-spirit and gender-diverse people who are murdered, face abuse, or disappear at high rates with equally high unreported and unresolved cases.

Also known as Sisters in Spirit Day, our hearts are with our community members and families who are grieving the loss of mothers, sisters, daughters, grandmothers, aunties, cousins and friends.

As we remember those lost, we commit to action—improving Indigenous relations, fostering reconciliation and amplifying Indigenous voices to ensure safety and equity for all.
