Numerous tickets and charges laid stemming from St. Patrick’s Day gathering

Numerous tickets and charges were issued by the City of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University as a result of the unsanctioned street gathering on March 17 that occurred in the City of Waterloo.

A breakdown of the City of Waterloo charges includes:

  • Nuisance noise (summons):  5
  • Nuisance gatherings (summons): 9
  • Noise bylaw: 6
  • Nuisance (bodily emissions): 2
  • Business licensing: 1 (summons)

Wilfrid Laurier University special constables issued 69 provincial offence notices, of which 43 were given to non-students and 26 to Laurier students.
