Pink Shirt Day

Pink Shirt Day started when two high school students in Nova Scotia witnessed another student being bullied for wearing pink. They responded by encouraging everyone at their school to wear pink in solidarity with the student who was bullied.

Today, we join in the efforts to raise awareness about the problem of bullying in our schools, workplaces and online. Pink Shirt Day is about cultivating a community of kindness and nurturing a sense of belonging where we live, work and go to school. Kindness is the foundation of a vibrant and inclusive Waterloo.
