Public information centre - we're updating our transportation master plan

The City of Waterloo is undertaking a study to review and update the community's transportation plan. The revised plan will provide an up-to-date strategy for moving people and goods around the city now and into the future. With Waterloo changing and growing, the transportation system needs to adapt to who we are today and where we want to be in 25 years.

The study is following the requirements of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) process and aligns strategically with the city’s official plan, strategic plan and other master plans and policies.

Your input is important to us!

Engaging the community is a vital component of this study. Thanks to everyone who attended our public consultation events last summer or has provided input through our page on engagewr.ca/waterloo or by e-mail (see below). Based on what we have heard so far, the project team has developed draft policy directions and network plans for the city’s future transportation system. These policies and plans for walking, rolling and cycling, roads, and transit will form the basis of the updated transportation master plan to be presented to city council later this spring.
