Raksha Bandhan (1)

Raksha Bandhan is a Hindu festival celebrating the bond between sisters and brothers. Traditionally, the sister ties a decorated thread or bracelet around her brother’s wrist and in return the brother offers his sister a gift.  It is an opportunity for families to gather and to enjoy sweets and traditional food. Over the years, the festival has broadened to celebrate loyalty and affection among friends and communities. 

Raksha Bandhan inspires us all to celebrate those we hold dear, and to create caring communities of friends and neighbours.
