Sisters in Spirit Day 2026

Sisters in Spirit Day honours missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, two-spirit and gender-diverse people, while recognizing the strength and resilience of their families, loved ones and communities. 

Today, we remember those who have been taken too soon and acknowledge the profound grief carried by families and communities across the country. We hold space for all those mourning the loss of mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, aunties, cousins, friends and loved ones.
 
As we remember those lost, we also commit to action through improving Indigenous relations, fostering reconciliation and amplifying Indigenous voices to ensure safety and equity for all.
