Traffic safety around road construction sites

City crews set up many construction zones throughout the communty for the purpose of repairing and paving roads, conducting utility work and more. Please help keep our crews safe by obeying the signs and slowing down when driving near construction zones.  You may not be saving time, but you are saving lives.

Tips for driving through construction zones:

• Follow the signs. Signs contain essential information about traffic conditions, road closures and detours ahead.
• Be aware of construction zones and proceed with caution.
• Consider alternate routes. Learn more about current road, trail and sidewalk closures and sign up for closure alerts.
• Watch for trucks turning and backing up.
