Transgender Day of Remembrance 2025

Transgender Day of Remembrance honours the lives of transgender and gender-diverse people lost to violence. It is also a time to recognize the ongoing harassment, discrimination and stigma that many continue to face.

On this day, we reflect on the systemic barriers that contribute to violence, and we acknowledge the strength and resilience of transgender people in Waterloo and across Canada.

The City of Waterloo is committed to fostering a community where everyone can live authentically and safely, free from fear and discrimination. We remember those lost, support those advocating for justice and work together toward a future where every individual is valued and respected.
