Transgender Day of Visibility

Transgender Day of Visibility is an annual awareness day to celebrate the lives of transgender and gender diverse people. It also raises awareness of the efforts needed to achieve trans justice. This recognition date began in 2009 through the advocacy of Rachel Crandall, following countless media stories focusing on violence against transgender people.

Ongoing violence and harm creates fear and removes opportunity for transgender people to live their lives authentically. As a community we can work together to recognize transgender role models and create safe space for self-discovery by taking action on systems that perpetuate violence and harm.
