Waterloo 2025 Senior of the Year nominations now open

Nominations are now open for Waterloo’s 2025 Senior of the Year award. Residents are encouraged to take a few moments to tell us about a special resident over the age of 65 who has made a significant contribution to the community as a volunteer. 

Each year, the Age-Friendly Waterloo Advisory Committee honours a local senior (65+) for their outstanding contributions to the community.

Seniors who qualify for this award may have contributed to: the arts; literature; community service; education; environment; fitness; or volunteering and humanitarian activities. The Senior of the Year will be recognized during Senior’s Month in June.

To be eligible for Senior of the Year Award, a nominee must be:

• 65 years of age;
• a current resident of Waterloo;
• made volunteer contributions to improve the Waterloo community; and;
• give permission to be nominated and verify the information submitted is accurate.
