Bechtel Park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Enjoy the park's trails, sports fields, tennis courts, playground, indoor field house and leash-free dog park.

Find entrance and parking
The entrance to Bechtel Park is at 185 Bridge Street West.
- free parking – follow signs inside the park
- park staff can be reached at 519-576-2420, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Find washrooms
September to April
- Manulife Soccer and Sports Centre indoor washrooms – open daily, 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
May to September
- Manulife Soccer and Sports Centre portable washrooms – open 24 hours, east side of the building facing the sports fields
- Bechtel Stadium portable washrooms – open 24 hours, near the playground and between the tennis court and dog park parking lots
Explore the park
Bechtel Park covers 100 acres with natural areas and recreation spaces.
You’ll find:
- indoor field house
- leash-free dog park
- large forested area with wetlands
- trails for hiking and cross-country skiing – view trail map
- 3 soccer fields (1 with lights)
- hardball stadium with lights, dressing rooms and press box
- batting cage
- 4 hard-surface tennis or pickleball courts with lights
- playground
Owners must keep dogs on a leash outside the dog park.

Visit the Manulife Soccer and Sports Centre
The Manulife Soccer and Sports Centre is an indoor field house, open daily for pre-booked programs and rentals:
- 33.5 x 62 m turf floor with 11 m ceiling
- used by community groups, schools and teams
- dressing rooms and showers available
Follow field house rules:
- leave the playing surface immediately after your rental ends
- exit within 5 minutes after your activity
- no spitting, blowing noses freely or releasing bodily fluids
- no re-entry or in and out privileges
- bring your own first aid supplies
- pick up all equipment before leaving
Visit the leash-free dog park
A large leash-free area is located at the south end of Bechtel Park.
Follow dog park rules:
- don’t bring treats or toys – they cause conflict
- don’t bring puppies under four months, aggressive dogs, or dogs in heat
- dogs older than 7 months must be spayed or neutered
- children under 12 must be stay with an adult
- pick up dog waste and throw it out in the poop recycle waster containers
- dogs must have up-to-date licences and vaccinations
- keep dogs under close control at all times

Lost and found
We don’t have a lost and found for fields, courts or parks:
- we take found wallets, phones or keys to the Waterloo Service Centre
- we leave clothing, sports gear and other items where they were found
