Apply for a noise exemption

The city's Noise Bylaw limits excessive noise. Apply for an exemption if your event or project might cause excessive noise.

How to apply

The city approves exemptions for a maximum of 6 months.

  1. Choose the type of exemption you need.
  2. Download and complete the noise exemption application form (PDF).
  3. Include a site plan that shows the noise source and its distance to the nearest home.
  4. Submit your application in person at City Hall, at least 30 to 45 days before your event (timing depends on the exemption type).
